This beer is so dark that it’s almost black (as the name suggested), but manages to stay just a bit more brown than black. Slight presence of legs. The head is burnt caramel, almost orange, and fades quickly.
Aroma is clean and low. Malt is dominant but it’s not a strong smelling beer.
Slightly oily mouth-feel. Not heavy though. Somewhat sweet with a hint of bitterness, (just the right hint for a Schwarzbier). Great balance of malt and hops. It’s somewhat dry.
All in all, a very good example of a Schwarzbier. Well worth trying.
